It was a cold an unfamiliar world that she knew nothing about by default, with all she had ever known before being the simple bliss of a close warm space that seemed to have been able to go on forever- until it hadn't. A turmoil of movement and feeling a fresh breeze for the first time was more than enough to get the kitten to burst forth with wide jaws, startled, unaware of what was going on around her. There was movement, and there were others- smaller bodies like hers that she felt more secure around than she did the feeling of open air. Her lungs were blasted with her first breaths, no sounds reaching her that made sense- only a dull echo of the world around her. She felt touch, movement, and hunger in her belly as sharp as glass digging into her. It drew forth a mewl from her small mouth, tiny teeth standing out against her fur as dark as coal, a few blazing spots of orange scattered across her pelt as she shuffled forward, not minding the rasp of her mothers tongue against her pelt. She'd only get accustomed to it in time as she latched on to fill the ache in her belly, an ache she did not like.
Wisteria. That was to be her name, of long lilac flowers that hung down from the trees, and the only one of her siblings to have a name that would never change throughout the course of her life. She had no -kit ending, nothing of the sort, not like the girl truly minded as it were. Curling up below against the warmth of her mothers stomach, a warmth that felt so familiar and welcoming against the bright, stinging cold she had been put up with just moments before, the ache in her belly subsided, she had dozed off. With only the comfort of her mother, and the feeling of her siblings bodies around her.
